What are some of your hobbies?

A big hobby turned side job of mine is teaching yoga. I teach sunrise, sunset, and weekend classes. My teaching style is a mix between Yin and Vinyasa. The sessions mainly occur on zoom, but I also have local clients who enjoy meeting in person. I started yoga for fun in my early twenties, and my love for it has only grown. The mind-body connection I receive has helped me grow through life and keeps my typically chaotic mind calm. I also enjoy killing bad guys on Call of Duty because life needs balance. Outside of teaching yoga, I am a licensed nail tech whose little sister takes advantage of my talents.

What are you reading/listening to/watching right now?

Lately, audiobooks have been an obsession. The Silent Patient is my current listen. It’s a psychological thriller about a woman who kills her husband and then refuses to speak about his death. I am about halfway through, and you have to pry the earbuds out of my ears to get me to take a break. When I pause my audiobook, I listen to my eldest daughter playing music or telling me a story, my toddler babbling and scream-singing, or YouTube videos and movies with my fiancé.

Pets?

Animals are one of the many joys of my life. In my bedroom, a 30-gallon tank holds two African water frogs and two neon fish, one yellow and one purple. My furry babies are a silver Bengal cat, a gray and white American Bully, and a brown Goldendoodle. I dream of having enough land for chickens, horses, pigs, wildlife, and a million more dogs and cats. Until then, I dog sit and volunteer as much as I can at OKC’s Animal Welfare. I also foster animals that are in-between homes.

Favorite research project you’re working on, that is, if you were a scientist?

It isn’t rocket science, but I am currently in the process of receiving my doula certification. Unfortunately, I cannot have a house full of kids of my own, but the thought of helping other women through their journey is something I am incredibly passionate about and excited about. This fall, I get to guide three women through their birth before receiving my license. Learning is one of my favorite things, and I am lucky to have the opportunity to learn as many things as I would like.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Being a newbie, I haven't had many experiences at Anglin, but I have received an insanely warm welcome. Being surrounded by many intelligent and interesting people has filled me with gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose. I look forward to learning more from them and hearing more about their stories. The office is full of life, and the energy to do excellent work is infectious. My previous experience in marketing has given me an intense and sometimes obsessive love for social media.
