What did you want to be when you were little?
As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a journalist, traveling to interesting places, covering exciting topics and sharing valuable information with others. I often imagined myself as a news reporter covering breaking news from remote locations all over the world. Also, I had a passion for singing and aspired to be a contestant on Star Search. At family dinner parties, I often found myself performing "The Sun Will Come Up" from Little Orphan Annie. I enjoyed it so much, I would insist on doing encore performances, trying to outdo my previous ones. Eventually leading to “getting the hook.”
What’s growing in your garden?
So glad you asked—I could talk about gardening all day! This year, my friends and I decided to trade unusual and exotic veggie seeds to give them a go in the garden to shake things up a bit. At the moment, I’m growing ground cherries, Chilean guava and six heirloom tomato varieties, including a tiny white cherry called “White Currant”. I also have strawberries, red scallions, dinosaur kale, chamomile, basil, catnip for the kitties and a few more fun green things. As a former Butterfly Ranger for the David Suzuki Foundation, I’m especially fond of pollinator friendly plants.
What do you see yourself doing in 25 years?
My dream would be to travel the world and report fascinating discoveries from a journalistic perspective. I also aspire to moonlight as a published author in the personal development space. Beyond that, I enjoy collaborating with clients on diverse and interesting projects, and I’d like to keep that going. It keeps things exciting to help businesses with their grand opening and in the same day, assist with a media release for a non-profit’s impactful work. I love the diversity of my work and helping clients deliver amazing results while supporting their success.
