This time of year I’m knee-deep in fashion content, as all the fashion weeks debut back to back. My favorite fashion podcast, The Cutting Room Floor has a new season, so it’s been a nice buffer between catching runway shows. I’ve also really enjoyed reading the amalgamation of art, food and culture newsletters that I’m subscribed to on Substack– they populate my inbox with stuff I actually want to open.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I love curating ideas into pieces of content that people get to engage with. Whether it lives on a homepage, social account or billboard, I enjoy being able to spark a conversation or evoke an emotion by sharing media with the masses. Also, anytime I step on set and put my producer cap on is a particularly fun day.
How did you get your start in marketing?
While I wrote for my high school’s paper and was an editor for a couple of indie zines, my true career started when I was a college student eager to dive in and work for any company that would have me. I put together a very amateur CV and sent it out to as many organizations that I could get contacts for. Eventually, a local company gave me the opportunity to intern with them, and I’ve been producing digital media ever since! I learned so much from my first few roles, they helped me define my edge early-on and attuned my eye to quality content.
Have any fashion advice that you stick to?
“Wear exactly what you want” is my mantra when I step into the closet. Not leaving the house until I’m >95% satisfied with what I have on has helped me curate my personal style and build authentic confidence in how I choose to show up in the world.
